Porsche 356 Speedster model year 1958, Reuter Chassis 84139 Engine 73393

Here is a very nice 356 Speedster that has had a significant amount of maintenance work done on the car and that runs and drives extremely well if not perfectly. Recent work includes: oil and filter, valve lash adjustment, ignition tune-up, completely overhauled braking system including 4 new front and 2 rear wheel cylinders, backing plates where needed, all new flex brake lines, new master cylinder, new speedometer cable, rebuilt carburetors, rebuilt fuel valve, new fuel lines and much more. The car shows nicely, but is not original.   It wears an older red paint re-spray (original color code 702) over correct wool carpets and recovered somewhat tired seats.  Chrome bits are all there but not in as-new condition. This car has been in California for many years, but has had its floor replaced by a prior owner many years back.  This job albeit sound was not done well and the new Porsche floors were welded over the original floor board.  We have talked to a very experienced 356 restoration shop and received a quote of $3-5k to remove and re-install a new floor pan correctly: this does not include the cost to purchase a reproduction floor pan which is readily available from sources such as Stoddard for less than $500.  Albeit not a concourse car, this is a very nice Speedster and one that could be easily restored to concourse condition.  This is a private party car consigned to Driveline for sale.
