Seller's Comments:
(THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SOLD)

I personally knew this car’s now deceased prior owner for some 30 years. He was an avid and extremely knowledgeable Studebaker collector whose father worked for Studebaker in Shanghai, China in the early 1900’s. My recollection is my friend acquired this 1929 President approximately 18 years ago. During his stewardship of the car he did significant work to improve the car’s reliability, drivability and cosmetics. Although externally in keeping with the period, the car has indicator lights, a lightened flywheel, a single plate clutch (versus the original dual plate), an electric fuel pump and new rear axel ratio. This ratio is unknown to me but is purported to be that of the Indianapolis 500 cars of the era. The car is very nice cosmetically and drives wonderfully. The engine runs very smooth and has excellent power. The car starts on its 6 volt battery with ease. Clutch take up is good and the non-synchromesh three speed transmission shifts nicely. Brakes are quite good for the age of the car, and all lights work. The car is being sold as is with no warranty of any kind.
