Porsche 911SC Cabriolet: 1983 the first year for the Cabriolet! This is quite a nice little 911 driver: a silver over black Cabriolet with a fresh service including valve adjustment, crankshaft seal, filters, fluids and plugs. Tires are excellent and brakes have a good seventy percent remaining, this little 911 is good to go for many miles. This being the first year for the 911 Cabriolet and only year with the 3.0 SC engine, it's a light, nimble package. The car is in very nice condition overall and shows no signs of accidents all body panels are original to the car. It appears to have been repainted once in its life to original color. We do not know how long ago that was, but it appears to have been several years. Paint in general is good, the repaint being a competent job, color match is good, luster is excellent, no major dings or scrapes. Seats, carpets and door panels are all in nice condition considering age, the lower seat cushion on the driver's seat has been re covered in vinyl, the original being leather. The dash is excellent: no cracks, top is quite good but is slightly faded and has a few worn sports. Back plastic window is clear but has some small scratches. The car does not have its AC system any longer; we do not have the removed parts. The Sony radio works as do all lights mirrors and windows. The engine is very tight no oil leaks and runs really strong! This is a very good 3.0 and it has already been updated to Carrera chain tensioners. Clutch is smooth; take up is solid, and immediate. The transmission is superb, no synchromesh issues. Shift linkage is very positive benefiting from the Porsche factory short shift kit installation. The car tracks well, shocks are good, steering is nice and tight. Fuchs are polished lip, 7' and 8" by 16" with color Porsche crests. Headlights are converted to the Euro style H4. The car shows some 39k miles on the current odometer and 91k on the replaced unit: thus mileage is about 130k which looks to be correct given the overall condition of the car. The underside of this 911 is very sanitary, no evidence of rust, or any damage. The engine and transmission do not appear to leak at all.
