1971 Buick Skylark Convertible Custom Here is an extremely nice, California from new, 1971 Buick Skylark Convertible Custom Edition V8 350-4 equipped with Power Top, Power Windows, Power Locks, Tilt Wheel, Air Conditioning and Power Disc Brakes. This Skylark is essentially a one owner local San Francisco Bay Area car, the owner having purchased it some 35 years ago from the original buyer a neighbor. The car has traveled 133k miles all here in California and is absolutely and completely rust free! It has also been garaged all its life! The top is in as new condition free of tears or cracks and is fitted with a glass rear window, and includes its original dark green toneau boot cover (not pictured but in superb condition.) The interior is dark green with the front seats having been recovered some 10-15 years back with an excellent match to the original vinyl. Carpets are in fantastic shape as is the dash pad, no cracks. Tires are brand new; oil is fresh, and the transmission is serviced. It appears the exhaust has been redone and a new starter is fitted. The Skylark has not had any accidents; all body panels appear original and thus no frame damage. It has been re-painted to original color once some 10-15 years ago per recollection of the owner. It is a good to decent paint job, but not of concourse quality. There are several door dings scratches on the right side and a small depression in the rear quarter panel near the Skylark emblem: otherwise the paint is very nice, smooth, and has decent luster. Bumper and stainless trim is superb, no cracks, pitting or major dents. The interior is excellent except the fitment of an incorrect radio and some of the fake wood look on the panel left of the steering wheel is sort of pitting. The steering wheel also has some cracking in the plastic wood insert. Carpet is superb. Door panels and all interior metal chrome bits are perfect. All lights, windows, locks and the power top work well and three of the headlights at "T3" original type fitment. AC is inoperable and appears to be a short in wiring or the switch, it is charged with Freon. Two sets of keys are included with the original owner's manual and quite a number of service records receipts. This Skylark runs and drives perfectly, starts on a key turn and pump of the accelerator. Brakes are excellent and smooth (and it appears the master and booster were redone not long back.) Suspension is tight, no shimmies or rattles and power steering works perfectly. The automatic transmission shifts crisply and without clunks and there is no slippage. Door fit and alignment is excellent and door hinges are smooth, no kinks and the doors close easily with a click.
